About Us
We are a team of registered and provisional psychologists with an innate curiosity about human behaviour. We firmly support effective diagnosis and early intervention as the key to treatment efficacy. We take a holistic approach to understanding mental health and treatment options and have experience across the lifespan.
Our experience extends across a variety of mental health disorders and a focus on experiential therapy. This allows for learning through many pathways, allowing for every individual to learn in a way that feels right for them.
The Full Story
Where It Started
"My brain has always attuned to others' perspectives and behaviours. People are interesting, I am curious. I love the stories people tell, I am honoured to be witness to their narrative and to be able to help is a privilege. Research firmly supports the effects of the natural environment on the human brain and therefore mood and affect. Sunnybank Therapies is a private practice that is set in a natural space, with both in-clinic and outdoor sessions available. This I believe, is the best possible environment for healing, growth and regulation."
How did horses come into it?
"Well, from as young as two years old, when my mother used to perch me atop her massive thoroughbred Cosmo, I have had a passion for all things horses. I love who they are, how they live in the moment and the way they live authentically, honestly and in truth. Horses don't lie, but they also don't care about your accomplishments. If you are kind, they will be kind. If you are regulated, they will be regulated. I love the reciprocity of equine-human relationships because they are also boundaried with respect. I had a vision as a child that I would someday have a business where I brought humans and horses together, to heal together. That vision is Sunnybank Therapies."
- Dr Carly Tredway
Carly, The Principal Psychologist
at Sunnybank Therapies
Dr Carly Tredway is a registered psychologist with an innate curiosity about human behaviour and in particular, adolescent mental health. She completed her undergraduate training and postgraduate research (PhD) relating to female adolescent depression and how gonadal hormones influence incidence, duration and severity of depression.
Carly firmly supports effective diagnosis and early intervention as the key to treatment efficacy that has repercussions beyond the adolescent period, for multiple presentations. She takes a holistic approach to understand mental health and treatment options and is fascinated by human behaviour and experience. Carly is particularly interested in individual differences within the human population and how these differences influence decision-making, behaviour and perspective.
She has experience across the lifespan with a variety of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, autism, oppositional defiance disorder and attention deficit disorder. She has experience through research-focused degrees and in teaching at the University of Newcastle.
Carly loves roaming the bush with family and horses in her spare time - this is what makes her heart sing (she's also partial to making 'crappy' craft to keep her hands busy).
Conor Sinnett
About Conor
Conor discovered he was neurodivergent shortly after finishing high school at eighteen years of age. While he experienced challenges throughout his schooling, he developed a range of self‑management strategies that supported him to complete his education.
As he deepened his understanding of himself and his diagnoses, Conor was inspired to pursue a career in psychology. He is passionate about helping others better understand themselves and their experiences.
Conor works from the perspective that being neurodivergent is more than a diagnosis. He views it as a double‑edged sword — one side requiring specific support, while the other offers unique strengths and potential. His aim is to support individuals to access the right supports while also recognising and embracing the positive aspects of neurodivergence.
Interests
Conor’s personal interests contribute to his approachable and relatable style:

Conor is particularly passionate about:
